How can I as an AYS leader bring youth to Christ with good program not only entertaining them?

I know that drama/skits will bring people, and maybe even touch them with acting. but I don't want to keep doing skits or having socials like some had suggested.

it is actually hard. I'm having the same problem.

Are you actually involving them in the program?  If they have responsibility and "own" what they are doing and sharing with others it will mean more to them, not just one more thing to have to show up to that week.  We did a special prayer room (followed by food and fun) one night for vespers, and another night we did a Agape Feast, complete with sitting on the floor with appropriate foods and some of the leaders acted out Jesus, Peter and Judas.

Also, consider service to your community - it doesn't have to be big.  Let them decide what they want to do and how they are going to do it- random acts of kindness, visiting a nursing home (young people don't realize until they go there that some of these folks really don't have anyone visit and their few minutes talking to them can make their week, month, year), or volunteering at the local food bank or Adventist Community Services center.  Or go big - painting a house, landscaping, funding for furniture for a single parent who can't afford beds for their kids.  Be creative, partner with existing service organizations in the community (that way you don't have to plan just volunteer), pray before, during and after.  Give the young people time to reflect on what they've done.  Check out www.adventistYES.org for ideas if this is something you are interested in.

The bad thing is that they don't want to participate but I do agree if I was to give them a day to do AY they would have to come and maybe their friends would come. But going out the church to do some work (outreach) is what i really want to do.

They might not want to participate because they feel that they have no say in what is being planned for them. Make sure you include their ideas too.  And have the 4 "F"s that is essential for any youth event - food, friends, faith, and fun!

I read a quote once that God never uses theatrics to reach souls...my heart dropped because i was into acting.  Especially Christian movies...I say fast and pray because God knows the individual souls you are working with.  He said if He is lifted up He will draw all men unto Him.  It is not for us to do it but to be used by God...

I have always loved discussions because it helps you answer questions and concerns that really are keeping people from knowing God.  It becomes a Bible study without anyone thinking about it.  I will pray for you.

Thank you @Raven White, I had never gone on a fast before, believe it or not. I was in the process of learning more about it. But yes, I heard about God not using theatrics. It's a debate in my mind right now. If it's in the Bible, I will stop and find better ways. You're right about discussions, and I will take your advice.

Stacy I will keep you in pray sister...Praise God for your work.  I am a dean of young ladies and it is interesting seeing what Christianity mean to them and how they keep their faith.  If Christ gives me more ideas, I will pass them along.

Yes please, I will gladly accept them, thank you.
