In today's culture the promotion of a counterfeit sexuality is widespread and a major focus from the government to the public school system nationwide. Since most of our children attend these public schools and spend more time there than they do at church and have more exposure to error there than they have exposure to truth at home, they tend to embrace the concepts and principles of this counterfeit sexuality and thus the results the enemy desires becomes a reality in too many cases.

No one will deny that a high percentage of our youth are "sexually" active and this activity is happening as early as kindergarten. The level of involvement and the habitual nature of the sexual activity experienced by this "young" population is resulting in a generation that is accepting the counterfeit sexuality and experiencing it's terrible consequences.

The question to ask is, is the Church doing enough to deal with this problem. Are we aggressively presenting the biblical principles of sexuality that will be the needed counterbalance to help our youth make the right "life-saving" decisions in this sexually charged culture. What is the solution? Simply put there must be a priority to teach, preach, and celebrate the value of virginity and the benefits of abstinence in every congregation. This priority would not only empower the youth, it would also empower parents, young adults and the older adult populations.

If the Church is to be the catalyst for holy living, can it fulfill it's purpose if we continue to keep our heads in the sand when it comes to dealing with sexual issues? Should we discontinue our "self imposed" conservative mindset and have the courage and faith to realize that truth must be spoken and sin in every form must be identified and addressed? Can we be the salvation for our youth if we continue to do business as usual?

I believe it's time for a change and have the burden to make things happen. If you are interested in starting an "ongoing" abstinence program in your congregation to benefit your youth and older population, send me a request to info@securinghopeministry.org We can help you make it happen!
